Event: APEC Finance Ministers Meetings
Venue: Hyatt Coolum
Date: July and August 2007

Working in conjunction with Mr Peter Costello and the Treasury Department on the APEC Finance Ministers Meeting held at Coolum from 1 – 3 August 2007, we provided simultaneous interpreting in English, Spanish, Russian, Japanese, Mandarin and Vietnamese languages.  

In addition, we also worked on the Deputy Finance Ministers Meeting held from 30 – 31 July 2007 and all the related bilateral meetings in which we provided both whispered and consecutive interpreting services. We then completed the transcription and translation of the Press Conference held at the end of the meeting.

The translation mainly concerned the answers provided by the Chinese Finance Minister who was asked the most questions and who responded in Chinese.

Although there was live simultaneous interpreting, it was not recorded so that part needed to be re-translated with the rest transcribed.  This was a major exercise which we were able to turn around in 24 hours which was much appreciated by our client.
